Wat Phumin – A famous temple in the middle of Nan that you must visit

If you visit Nan and don't stop by Wat Phumin, you'd be missing out! This temple is over 400 years old and has a unique identity, as it is the first four-sided ordination hall in Thailand, meaning the church and the temple are combined into one building. Inside, there are four principal Buddha images, facing in all four directions. What you can't miss is the "Whisper of Love" or Pu Man Ya Man, a famous mural painting that has become a symbol of Nan. If you look closely, you'll see that the couple's eyes and gestures are extremely charming. When I went, the temple was undergoing some renovations, but it was still easy to visit and the atmosphere was great. In front of the temple is the Khuang Muang Nan, a large square with live music and activities to enjoy. Especially if you come on Fridays and Sundays, there is a walking street where you can take a leisurely stroll, buy food, and then sit and eat in the old city atmosphere. There are several parking spots to choose from, both along the road around the temple and behind the temple. You can walk around comfortably, or if you want to take a tram around the city, there is also a service available.
