#aprilblooms An old shrine that dates back to 662 BC, the ancient shrine originated when the god Nihon Iwayohiko no Mikoto (Hiko no Mikoto, later Emperor Jinmu, who is called Kamuyama), was enshrined as a god. It is the headquarters of Kumano Shrine throughout the country and is also known as one of the Kumano Sanzan. It is also known as "Yugu" because it is not only a place of reverence, but also a palace that connects people's relationships and various wishes. When you pass through the path with long stone steps, there is a tan-nuri ceremonial hall, and in the back of it, six main halls with different deities are lined up to form a sacred area. In addition to the main hall, there are scattered "Karasuishi" that is said to have changed the Yatakarasu that led the divine Japanese Iwanyohiko no Mito to its destination, "Kusuryosha", which is familiar with the womb, and "Hidehira cherry blossoms (yamazakura)" planted by Fujiwara no Hidehira, a warlord in the Heian period. In addition, the sacred tree "Magi no Ki", which shows that it coexists with the nature of Kumano, is said to be beneficial for safe relief.
