A journey to discover the charms of the three-story pagoda and Nachi Falls

Continuing down the stairs, you finally reach the three-story pagoda. The view of Nachi Falls from this spot is amazing. The combination of the tall red tower and the waterfall flowing from the distant forest is rich in composition and harmonious. It is a wonderful view on both sunny and rainy days. Continuing down the stairs, old large trees stand on both sides, and finally arriving at the foot of the mountain, the entrance to Nachi Falls is right in front of you. Nachi Falls is the highest waterfall in Japan, with a drop of 133 meters. The Shinto Nachi Taisha Shrine was built to commemorate the spirit of this waterfall and is one of the three most famous shrines on the Kii Peninsula. In addition, below Nachi Falls is Hiryu Shrine, where you can view the waterfall up close. Although this is the highest waterfall in Japan, it is surprisingly not spectacular when viewed from below, and compared to Niagara Falls, it is so far behind that you will have to go back and forth several times. With all of our plans safely completed, we can return to the hot springs. When we go outside, there is a bus stop where we board the Kamebune to go to Urashima Taro's hotel.
