A Beautiful Journey in Melaka

Melaka is a hidden historical gem in Malaysia. This city, uniquely influenced by Portugal, the Netherlands, the UK, and China, can be described as a cultural crossroads. Walking along the Melaka River, the old shops and brightly colored buildings made me feel like I was traveling through time. The Dutch Square and Christ Church, decorated in red, were particularly beautiful symbols of the city. At the museum where I could experience Peranakan culture, I admired the colorful ceramics and unique costumes. At the weekend night market on Jonker Street, I could see the vibrant life of the locals while exploring local food and handicrafts. Unforgettable was the food. Local dishes like chicken rice balls, satay, and laksa were a true festival of flavors from various cultures. Especially, the Nyonya Ais Kacang enjoyed with coconut shake made me forget the hot weather. Melaka is a small city rich in history and culture, a place where you can experience the true essence of Malaysia.
