#September2024 Fort Saint-Jean stands beside the northern estuary of the Old Port of Marseille, echoing the Palais du Pharo and Fort Saint-Nicolas on the south. The fortress was built by order of Louis XIV in 1660 and has now been transformed into a museum, recording that glorious history. Visitors can enter the fortress for free and overlook the beautiful scenery of the city of Marseille from a high place. However, please note that some indoor exhibition halls require additional tickets to enter. The museum is open from 10:00 to 18:00 daily and is closed on Tuesdays.
