ONE DAY TRIP IN MARRAKESH

Arriving in Marrakesh, I checked in at my hotel Riad Alice Terrace & Spa, dropping off my bags and freshening up before setting out to explore the city’s rich history and vibrant culture. The first stop was the El Badi Palace, a stunning yet now-ruined palace that once showcased the grandeur of the Saadian dynasty. Walking through its vast courtyards and sunken gardens, I could almost imagine the lavish celebrations that once took place here. Next, I made my way to the Bahia Palace, a masterpiece of Moroccan architecture. The intricate stucco work, colorful tiles, and serene courtyards offered a glimpse into the opulent lives of Marrakesh’s former rulers. The peaceful atmosphere made it a perfect place to soak in the city’s artistic heritage. From there, I took a taxi to Albasha, where I stopped for a break at Bacha Coffee. The café, known for its rich selection of brews, offered a taste of old-world elegance. Sipping on a cup of their signature coffee while enjoying the historic ambiance was a true highlight of the day. Feeling refreshed, I walked to Le Jardin Secret, a beautifully restored 19th-century garden hidden in the heart of the Medina. The contrast between its lush greenery and the bustling city outside made it feel like a hidden oasis. From there, I wandered through the lively souks (markets), admiring the colorful stalls filled with handmade crafts, spices, and traditional Moroccan goods. The energy of the market was infectious, with merchants calling out their offers and the scent of fresh herbs filling the air. Continuing my exploration, I visited the Ben Youssef Madrasa, an ancient Islamic school with breathtaking geometric designs and peaceful courtyards. Standing inside, I marveled at the intricate cedarwood carvings and zellij tiles, imagining the scholars who once studied within its walls. As the sun set, I made my way to Jemaa el-Fnaa, the famous central square of Marrakesh. The atmosphere was electric, with street performers, musicians, and food vendors bringing the place to life. I sat down at one of the bustling food stalls for dinner, indulging in a traditional Moroccan meal—perhaps a flavorful tagine or a steaming bowl of harira soup, accompanied by fresh bread and mint tea. With a full stomach and a heart full of memories, I took a final stroll through the square, enjoying the magical night ambiance before heading back to my hotel, ready to rest after an unforgettable day in Marrakesh. #travel #citydaytours #marrakesh #morocco #onedaytrip
