Phra That Na Dun, Maha Sarakham Province

Phra That Na Dun is located in Ban Na Dun, Na Dun District, Maha Sarakham Province. It is an important place of Buddhism for the people of Maha Sarakham. It is a sacred place built to bring prosperity to the region. The surrounding area has been developed to be a center for promoting Buddhism and arts and culture in the Northeastern region. Therefore, it is called the “Isan Buddha Monument”. The area around the chedi is spacious and has been decorated as a botanical garden with trees from the life of the Buddha. Phra That Na Dun is an area where historical and archaeological evidence has been excavated to show the prosperity in the past because this area used to be the location of the city of Champasak. Various antiques that were discovered are displayed at the Khon Kaen Provincial National Museum.
