#TravelAdvice I took advantage of my Obon holiday to visit the long-awaited South America! My destinations were Machu Picchu in Peru and the Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia. It was truly a trip of a lifetime, made possible thanks to a nine-day weekend! Itinerary Days 1-2: Traveled to Cusco via Los Angeles and Lima. Because of the high altitude, I first took my time sightseeing to acclimate my body. Days 3-4: Finally, I went to Machu Picchu! The ruins were imposing and filled with a mysterious charm that can't be conveyed in photos. Days 5-7: Traveled to Bolivia and the Uyuni Salt Flats. The blue sky reflected in the pure white earth was truly otherworldly. At night, I was captivated by the starry sky. Days 8-9: Stopped in La Paz to explore the city and shop for souvenirs. Relaxed before my flight home. 🏨 Accommodation A night in Machu Picchu Village is a must! Staying at a salt hotel in Uyuni will create memories you'll never forget! 🍴 Nearby Food Spots Alpaca meat and cuy (guinea pig) are rare Peruvian dishes, so try them! Bolivian salteñas (stuffed pies) are also great for sampling while walking around. 📌 Useful Tips Precautions against altitude sickness are a must!
