A beautiful park in Miracle Mile

Hancock park is a beautiful stretch of greenery in the Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles. It’s famous for housing the La Brea Tar pits and associated museum, along with the life size replicas of the animals found within the tar pits. You’re able to see active tar pits that are bubbling to this day, and if you’re lucky you will find smaller parts of exposed tar within the park itself. It’s a great place to take in the surrounding architecture too, giving you good views of various art deco buildings in the surrounding area. There’s few public toilets and plenty of seating, some Of which is shaded for the hot weather. There’s also the tar pits museum which is great if you have kids! The entrance on Wilshire is the easiest to use as there is a lot of construction around the lower end of the park. But it’s still nice to visit! #cityplaybook #losangeles #la #california
