#BeautifulChurch The Madonna del Sasso Monastery, located in the Orselina district of Locarno, is the most well-known Catholic pilgrimage site in the Ticino region of southern Switzerland, bordering Italy. In addition to its large size, the monastery is located high up on a hill, with Lake Maggiore in the background, surrounded by mountains. It looks so peaceful and beautiful that you have to take lots of pictures. The monastery was founded after a Franciscan priest, Father Bartholomeo da Ivrea, had a vision of the Virgin Mary in 1480. The architecture here is in the Baroque style, which originated in Italy. Inside, there are wall paintings, exquisite marble carvings, and a wooden sculpture of The Last Supper. In front is a wide courtyard where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding area. There is also a museum in the same area. To get here, if you drive, there is a parking lot about 300 meters away.
