Reservations must be made in advance on the "Potala Palace" WeChat official account, and each WeChat account can only be used to make a reservation for one person. 🚝Tour route Enter from the south gate and visit the Snow City first. Here, you can find the Treasure Hall, Qiang Warehouse, Snow Prison, and Xueba Liekong, where you can learn about the history and culture of old Tibet. After visiting the Snow City, swipe your ID card to go up the mountain from the Qiang Warehouse, and swipe your ID card again at the ticket inspection point at the Stele without Inscription. Then, enter the palace in a zigzag pattern. After entering the White Palace, tickets will be checked and visitors will be divided into two channels. Channel 1 offers more attractions, so it is recommended to choose Channel 1. Inside the palace, you can admire exquisite murals, Buddha statues, stupas, and more, and experience the profound heritage of Tibetan Buddhism and the grandeur of the Potala Palace. However, please follow the rules: do not take photos, do not step on the threshold, and do not point at the Buddha statues. After visiting all the palaces, you will reach the back mountain. After descending the mountain, exit from the north gate. Reminders Rest for two days after arriving in Lhasa to prevent altitude sickness. It is recommended to hire a tour guide for an explanation, which costs about CNY 50 per person for a group tour, so you can better understand the history and culture of the Potala Palace. If you are worried about altitude sickness, you can bring some chocolate, warm water with glucose, and an oxygen tank. Do not wear revealing clothes, and women should not wear skirts. Take off your hat, sunglasses, and gloves when entering the palace. The stairs inside the palace are very steep, so it is recommended to wear flat shoes.
