Thai restaurant made by a real Thai chef

#GetDiscountsWithoutLuck Sawadee is a small Thai restaurant in Leopoldsburg. It is located near the Sint-Blasiuskerk Church and has parking in front of the shop, which is very convenient. The chef is Thai, so the taste of the Thai food is not too different. There are about 6-7 tables in the shop, and on the day I went, all tables were full. They also offer takeaway. For this meal, I ordered the following: ➡️ Mixed appetizers There were fried fish cakes, fried spring rolls, steamed dumplings, golden bags, and chicken satay. Overall, all the fried food was very well-made. The chicken satay was salty. The satay sauce was thicker and had more peanuts than I'm used to, which should be the style here. The steamed dumplings were also tasty, but the sauces were Mae Pranom's style of plum sauce and chicken sauce. There was no soy sauce, which is also the style of this restaurant. ➡️ Stir-fried shrimp with holy basil This dish has to be praised for its excellent stir-frying skills. It was dry and had a nice aroma from the pan. As for the stir-frying of other ingredients besides basil, I didn't mind. The taste was just right, medium spicy. ➡️ Stir-fried pork ribs It was fried pork ribs with garlic stir-fried with other vegetables. This dish was the most delicious of all the dishes I ordered. The marinated pork ribs were very soft and had a really good aroma of Thai pepper and garlic. I liked it. ➡️ Red duck curry It was a bit different from what I expected. The duck was all meat with no skin. I guess it wasn't grilled. The soup was thick and creamy but not very oily.
