Yesanpo Scenic Area is located in the western part of Beijing, the northwestern part of Hebei Province, and within the territory of Laishui County, Baoding City. It is situated at the junction of two major mountain ranges in northern China (the Taihang Mountains and the Yanshan Mountains). The Taihang range extends a thousand miles southward along the border of Hebei, Shanxi, and Henan provinces from this point, while the majestic Yanshan range travels eastward from here through Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. The total area of Yesanpo is 498.5 square kilometers.
