Wat Chang Hai, Khok Pho District, Pattani Province

It is an ancient temple that was built over 300 years ago. According to legend, Phraya Kaem Dam, the Lord of Sai Buri, wanted to find a location to build a new city for his sister. So he took a risk and prayed, letting an elephant travel into the forest, with the Lord of the city and his soldiers following. One day, the elephant stopped at a certain place and roared three times. Phraya Kaem Dam took it as a good sign and wanted to use that area to build a city. However, his sister did not like it, so Phraya Kaem Kham ordered a temple to be built in that area instead. He named it Wat Chang Hai and invited a monk, whom the villagers called Than Langka, Somdet Phra Kho, or Luang Pho Thuad who stepped on the fresh sea water.
