Jeju Island Hallim Hanchipajeon Restaurant, ‘Badajebi’

- I like crispy pajeon like fried food :) While traveling to Jeju Island, I wanted to eat kalguksu, so I went to a place called ‘Badajebi’ in Hallim. I actually like kalguksu, so I went there to eat kalguksu, but just like when you go to a cafe, you order coffee and dessert together, and while looking for something to eat with kalguksu, I saw a pajeon with ‘hanchi’ on the menu, so I ordered it. I’ve eaten a lot of regular pajeon and seafood pajeon in my life, but this was my first time with pajeon with hanchi, so I ordered it. Actually, before the food came out, I thought, ‘Squid and hanchi are not that different.’ I didn’t expect much. But what the heck. Hanchi… This guy was more amazing than I thought. As soon as the hanchi pajeon came out, I thought, ‘How great is it!’ and I tore it into bite-size pieces and put it in my mouth right away, and I immediately felt the softness. And the texture was different from squid. The texture was soft, not tough, and chewy enough, I thought, 'This is why people say 'hanchi, hanchi' (Or maybe the chef cooked it well!) What was better than the texture of the hanchi was that the pajeon itself was completely crispy! It had a similar texture to fried food, so I felt that it went well with the soft and chewy texture of the hanchi.
