Before coming to Jeju, I heard that "Dongmun Market" is a microcosm of food and folk culture. This time I walked in in person and really fell in love with this lively and humane place. We arrived around 4pm. It was still early, but the market was already crowded. The air was filled with the aroma of frying, boiling, deep-frying and roasting, which instantly whetted our appetite. There are so many signature snacks here that it is simply irresistible. I first bought a black pork sushi, which smelled of roasting. The pork was thick and juicy, paired with vinegar rice and onion shreds. It was not greasy at all, and I felt happy after taking a bite. Then I tried the seafood pancake, which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a lot of ingredients. You can eat octopus, shrimp, and leeks. In addition to food, the market also sells many Jeju specialties, such as dried citrus fruits, orange chocolate, natural skin care products, etc., which are all suitable as souvenirs. I even bought a bag of handmade soap, which is made from Jeju volcanic ash and citrus peel extracts. The fragrance is natural and rich in texture.
