Jeju Island, Korea's Hawaii, easily accessible from Seoul

#TravelGuide Purpose Seoul is nice, but it's lacking in nature, so I decided to stretch my legs and head to Jeju Island. I thoroughly enjoyed the ocean and nature of Jeju, Korea's Hawaii! Schedule Day 1 It's about a 70-minute domestic flight from Seoul to Jeju. Taxis are convenient for getting from Jeju Airport to the city. I stayed at the Shilla Stay Jeju Hotel. It's about a 10-minute taxi ride from the airport. After dropping off my luggage at the hotel, I took a bus to Seongsan Ilchulbong. It's a World Heritage Site, and the summit is about 30 minutes away, offering great trekking. With ocean views and lush greenery, it's a highly recommended spot. There are also horses, and you can climb for a fee. There are also stone statues called Dolhabang scattered throughout the area. They are the guardian deity of Jeju, meaning "stone grandfather," and are a symbol of Jeju. Day 2 Innisfree, famous for its Korean cosmetics, has a store in Jeju called Innisfree Jeju House. The town also sells the Osulloc tea brand, and has a museum on-site. There's also a tea plantation. The greenery is beautiful during the spring. You can also enjoy meals, tea, and cakes at the restaurant/café, Innisfree Green Cafe. I got there by bus, but it seems most people rent cars. After that, I took a bus to see Cheonjeyeonpoppo Waterfall. Refreshing in this natural area. Day 3 Jeju also has a market, and I went to Dongmun Market. Mandarin oranges and other citrus fruits are a specialty of Jeju, so there are many shops selling them. They also sell juices and other items. There were also shops selling Korean clothing like traditional Korean dresses. Jeju is also home to female divers, who can catch abalone. There are many restaurants serving abalone rice dishes and porridge, so you can enjoy the food. Jeju is an island, so there are beautiful beaches all over it, similar to those in Okinawa. The water is incredibly clear, and even without swimming, it's beautiful and relaxing. Hyeopje Beach is especially beautiful. It's a bit far from the city center, but if you have the time, it's recommended. It's adjacent to Hallim Park. Check out of the hotel and take a taxi to the airport. Notes There are many weather-dependent spots, such as the ocean, waterfalls, and mountains. Photogenic Spots The ocean is beautiful. The tea fields at Innisfree Jeju House. Accommodation The Jeju City area is closest to the airport, but staying in the city makes bus transportation convenient. There are also many shops. The Jungmun area is home to luxury resort hotels. If you're traveling with children, staying at a resort hotel might be a good option. Transportation It's about a two-hour flight from Japan to Seoul. Various Korean airlines offer flights to Jeju Island. Round-trip tickets cost around 10,000 yen, making it affordable. It's about 70 minutes from Seoul. Jeju also has a fairly well-developed bus system. Ask for advice at the bus terminal or use Naver's map app. We recommend purchasing a transportation card. #TravelGuide #JejuTrip

Seongsan Ilchulbong

Jeju Island’s most epic natural wonders — Seongsan Ilchulbong 🌄. If sunrise missions and jaw-dropping landscapes are your thing, this spot’s for you! This place is hands-down stunning, especially in the summer when everything’s super lush and green. If you’re up for a challenge, get ready for plenty of stairs and a solid hike — don’t forget to wear comfy shoes and pack water. Pro tip: Even if you don’t make it to the very top, you can still catch an unforgettable sunrise from the base (just like we did! 🌅). Trust me, you won’t regret the early wake-up call. Travel Tips: Pack light for the hike and go early to beat the heat (and crowds). The climb isn’t for everyone, but the views from any level are 100% worth it. Don’t forget sunscreen and your camera. #SeogwipoViews #JejuIsland #SunrisePeak #KoreaTravel #TripDotCom
