I explored the ruins of Yoros Castle in Istanbul, Turkey.

Anadolu Kavağı is a beautiful fishing village near the confluence of the Bosphorus and the Black Sea. Climbing up the hill, you will find an ancient fortress - Yoros Castle. Yoros Castle is a ruin dating back to the Byzantine period, located at the confluence of the Bosphorus and the Black Sea in the Beykoz district of Istanbul, Turkey. It is often referred to as the Genoese Castle because it was occupied by the Genoese in the mid-15th century. The upper castle and the outer castle are connected by two square towers at each end of the western wall, with two round towers in the middle. The round tower to the north has a Greek inscription that is now illegible. The outer walls are currently mainly used as a military area, with only parts remaining. It takes about 30 minutes to climb up from the town, with some great views along the way, but the best views are from the castle itself; being close to the entrance of the Bosphorus to the Black Sea, it is a great place to enjoy the wonderful scenery. The ruins themselves are picturesque.
