A Day of Serenity at Akabori Kogiku no Sato

Last weekend, I had the chance to visit Akabori Kogiku no Sato with my wife and two sons, and it was an absolutely magical experience. This flower spot, nestled in Isesaki City, is famous for its stunning views of Mount Akagi to the north, Mount Asama, Mount Haruna, and Mount Myogi to the west, and the Chichibu mountains to the south. The moment we arrived, the vibrant colors of the small chrysanthemums captivated us. Stretching across 23,000 square meters, the flowers come in shades of yellow, orange, pink, and white, filling the air with a unique fragrance. My kids enjoyed running around and taking photos, while my wife and I found a peaceful spot to relax and soak in the breathtaking scenery. It's a place where all your worries seem to fade away, and time slows down. What Makes Akabori Kogiku no Sato Special? This spot is not just about flowers; it's a place rich in history and natural beauty. Located on the southern slope of Mount Minegishi (the highest peak in Isesaki City, standing at 168.3 meters), the area is maintained by the Kogiku Village Creation Association, who have planted approximately 20,000 ball chrysanthemums. During the annual Akabori Kogiku no Sato Festival, usually held in mid-October, the flowers are in full bloom, and various events bring the area to life. This year’s festival for 2024 ran from October 20 to November 17 and has now concluded. Helpful Information for Visitors Location: 412-3 Isomachi, Isesaki City Opening Hours: 24 hours (no lighting at night) Admission Fee: Free Parking: Free parking available Flowers on Display: Small chrysanthemums (ball chrysanthemums) Plan for Next Year If you missed this year’s exhibition, don’t worry! It’s a perfect destination to immerse yourself in nature, enjoy quality time with loved ones, and make unforgettable memories. Final Thoughts Akabori Kogiku no Sato is more than just a flower field—it’s a sanctuary of peace and beauty. Whether you’re looking to take stunning photographs, relax in a serene environment, or simply escape from the hustle of daily life, this place is a must-visit. For my family and me, it was a day well spent, filled with laughter, fresh air, and endless beauty. Make sure to add this gem to your travel bucket list—you won’t regret it! #akaborikogikunosato #chrysanthemumfestival #hiddengemjapan #autumninjapan #tripmoments #familytripjapan #gunmatravel #naturephotography #visitgunma #scenicviews #couplestrip#familytravel
