A hidden gem in Kochi Prefecture. The highly transparent and emerald green Nikobuchi Falls is located on the Edakawa River, a tributary of the Niyodo River. Originally, it was a place where locals did not enter as it was believed to be the home of a giant snake, the god of water, but now it has become a popular spot in Kochi. This is, in a word, a world overflowing with nature. The water is so clear that I was simply amazed. Another fascinating thing is how the color of the water changes depending on the time of day and the weather. I went there during the day on a weekday, and even though it is supposed to be a hidden gem, there were about 20 tourists there. I recommend going by car if possible.
