The mighty Skógafoss waterfall 🗺️

#waterfall I just got back from my trip to Iceland, and I have to say, Skógafoss waterfall was hands down one of the highlights! 🌊 Located in the south of Iceland, near the small town of Skógar, this place is an absolute gem. The entrance is free, which is amazing considering how breathtaking it is. The waterfall drops 60 meters (about 200 feet) and the mist creates a beautiful rainbow on sunny days. 🌈 I was able to get super close to the waterfall, which made for some incredible photos (and a bit of a soaking, but totally worth it!). If you're feeling adventurous, there's a steep staircase right next to the waterfall that takes you to the top. The view from up there is just unbelievable, you can see the entire valley stretching out before you. 🏞️ After spending time at Skógafoss, I took a short drive to the nearby Sólheimasandur beach to see the famous plane wreck – it’s about a 10-minute drive from the waterfall and a bit of a hike to get to, but so worth it! I also visited the Skógar Museum, which was super interesting and gave me a good sense of Iceland's history and culture. For those with a little more time, the nearby Fimmvörðuháls hiking trail is supposed to be amazing, connecting Skógafoss to the famous Þórsmörk valley. #trip #icelandadventures #waterfallmagic #naturelover #travelphotography
