Nanxun Ancient Town "A world of gentle breezes and soft waters" 📍Huzhou · Nanxun Ancient Town A brief travelogue: I visited Nanxun on February 18th. The weather was fantastic, and since it was a working day, the crowds weren't too bad, although I still encountered several tour groups. The southern part of the ancient town was quite lively, but it felt very commercialized. The northern part, near Baijian Lou, was much less crowded. Strolling along the small paths there was truly delightful. There's no entrance fee for Nanxun, but there are separate fees for attractions within the ancient town. I only visited one, the Liu's Tidihao (Red House). I bought a student ticket for 10 RMB and enjoyed exploring it. It had a charming blend of Chinese and Western architectural styles. If you want to visit other paid attractions, you can buy a combined ticket on your phone, which is much cheaper. You can also explore Nanxun by boat, but I didn't have time for that. The water bus is only 3 RMB, but you have to go to a specific pier to board it. I imagine taking a boat tour would offer a different perspective on Nanxun's beauty. I tried the local specialty "Three-Course Tea" in Nanxun, but I wasn't quite used to the salty tea. The teahouse lady was incredibly welcoming and even took photos for me since I was traveling alone. She found some amazing spots, perfect for capturing memorable pictures. The braised dried tofu she made was also delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My favorite part was the Baijian Lou area. It's absolutely stunning. There are many teahouses and restaurants along the riverbank, so you can choose one, sit by the water, and relax while enjoying the beautiful scenery.
