Sunlight House - Spanish Cuisine x Music Night

La Resaca, a Spanish bistro previously located in Wan Chai, has moved to Mong Kok and been renamed Sunlight House. I’ve always missed their seafood paella, and finally had the chance to try it. As soon as you step inside, the live band’s guitar melodies and the crisp clinking of glasses transport you instantly to a street-side tavern in Barcelona. Their dinner set for two ($388) offers great value, making this food x music night truly worth it. 𓂑 Soup of the Day｜Pumpkin Soup The pumpkin soup is incredibly thick, with the natural sweetness of pumpkin gently embraced by cream. A hint of nutmeg adds a spicy note to the finish, and its velvety texture clings beautifully to the spoon. 𓂑 Garlic Shrimp｜Served with Italian Herb Bread The sizzling garlic shrimp served in a hot iron skillet is undoubtedly the highlight of the evening! Tiger prawns are soaked in garlic oil, with golden crispy garlic slices that are perfectly fried without bitterness. A gentle touch of the knife reveals tender, snowflake-like white fish meat. The most impressive part is the "Socarrat"—the crispy rice crust at the bottom, thin as a cicada’s wing yet bursting with flavor, showcasing the essence of Spanish paella. 𓂑 Dessert｜Caramelized Pineapple Slices of pineapple are torched to create a crispy caramelized coating, with a tug-of-war between bitterness and fruit acidity that explodes with tropical vibes. 𓂑 Secret Drink The mysterious "Secret Drink" uses chilled fruits instead of ice cubes, which gradually release deeper fruit aromas over time. 𓂑 Damm Lemon Spanish Lemon Beer $38 Rarely found in Hong Kong, Damm Lemon Spanish lemon beer is as refreshing as a Mediterranean breeze. At $38 per glass, it’s a steal. This place doesn’t aim for meticulous refinement but instead captures the bold flavors and lively atmosphere of Spain.
