Hong Kong Flower Show Opens at Victoria Park

The Hong Kong Flower Show 2025 will be held at Victoria Park from March 14 to March 23, with opening hours from 9 AM to 9 PM daily. This year's theme flower is the Cosmos, with the theme 'Blooming Elegance'. The Cosmos is known for its vibrant and varied colors, symbolizing strength and happiness. This year's theme flower wall features six clusters of Cosmos-shaped flower arrangements, each with a diameter ranging from 1.4 meters to 2.1 meters, made from colorful orchids and carnations. The lush flowers bring a sense of vigor and vitality to the show, complemented by nearly ten thousand tulips in the foreground, creating a splendid visual effect. The central axis of the venue is meticulously designed with a 'Travel Around the World' theme. The 'European Tour' section features an English garden, a Dutch windmill, a Greek blue-and-white house, and a French lavender field as photo spots. The 'African Adventure' section includes a Jockey Club children's mosaic flower bed with lifelike flower mosaics of animals such as gorillas, hippos, camels, and giraffes. The 'Asian Tour' section allows visitors to explore landmarks like the Himalayas, Mount Kinabalu in Malaysia, Mount Fuji in Japan, the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, and the Supertree Grove in Singapore. The 'American Adventure' section explores ancient civilizations with visits to the Mayan pyramids and Easter Island Moai statues, as well as the Wild West, creating a fantastical world. This year coincides with the 15th National Games and the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th Special Olympics. The flower show features five crescent-shaped art installations themed 'City in Motion', adorned with various colors and varieties of Cosmos, offering a delightful sight. Additionally, there are large posters and photo spots featuring the mascots 'Xiyangyang' and 'Lerongrong' for visitors to take pictures. Another garden landscape, 'Nature's Gift', is shaped like a giant gift box, filled with enchanting hydrangeas. At night, the gift box is illuminated with soft lights, creating a romantic atmosphere. Besides the garden landscapes, the flower show also features a variety of rare and precious flowering plants, including Brugmansia, Pachystachys, Stapelia, and Blue Thunbergia (white variety), along with popular aroid foliage plants for visitors to enjoy. This year's flower show also showcases furniture art by local artist 'Flower Granny', who, at over 90 years old, enjoys painting on everyday items such as woks, folding chairs, and plastic basins. Her works are colorful and full of childlike fun. Additionally, the 'Flower Viewing Gallery' on the lawn features the whimsical 'Big Teapot and Tiny World', and the lawn also has a panda-themed photo spot and a large inflatable bouncy slide (open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 6 PM) for children to enjoy. The venue also exhibits potted plants, floral arrangements, and garden landscapes from local, mainland, and overseas organizations. There are also fast food and beverage stalls, flower and gardening product stalls, and various educational and entertaining activities such as floral demonstrations, gardening talks, music, and cultural performances. This year, there are new additions like busking street performances and home flower arrangement demonstrations. A total of 238 organizations are participating in this year's flower show, including 81 organizations from 11 countries: China, Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Poland, Malaysia, and the United States. The flower show is organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, with long-term support and donations from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust since 2013, and has been the main sponsor since 2014.
