Ma On Shan Ngong Ping Campground

The route I want to share today is the Ngong Ping Plateau between Ma On Shan and Sai Kung. The scenery here is very open, the vision is broad, and the scenery along the way is beautiful. The entire journey is about 4 kilometers and takes about 2 hours. The route is simple and easy to follow, suitable for novice hikers. Departure: Ma On Shan Railway Heng On Village Station/Ma On Shan Station From Ma On Shan Station, take the NR84 New Town Village Bus to the terminus. The journey takes about 10 to 15 minutes. The village bus runs infrequently, so it is recommended to check the timetable in advance. After getting off the bus, follow the path on the right and walk for about 10 minutes before you start walking up the mountain on a gravel road. It will take about half an hour to reach the pavilion, where you can take a rest and replenish your energy before continuing on your journey. After a rest, you can follow the signs towards Ngong Ping Camp. This section of the road is mostly gravel and it will take 10 to 15 minutes to reach Ngong Ping Plateau. Ngong Ping Plateau: See the Miscanthus and have a picnic Ngong Ping Plateau is a gathering place for paragliding enthusiasts, and you can often see paragliders flying in the sky. From the Ngong Ping Plateau, you can have a panoramic view of Sai Kung, as well as Tai Mong Tsai, Sharp Island, Diaoyu Weng and High Island Reservoir. In addition, the Ngong Ping Plateau is about 400 meters above sea level, with an open environment and beautiful scenery. You can bring a picnic mat, light meals, and drinks for a picnic, and enjoy the scenery while having a picnic, which is very relaxing. But remember to take away your garbage before leaving and don't damage the environment. Since the Ngong Ping Plateau faces east, many people choose to camp on the plateau to enjoy the beautiful sunrise.
