#Hangzhou Travel This time, I traveled to Hangzhou (杭州) and chose to leave the city a little to visit “Longmen Ancient Town” in Fuyang District (富阳), which is known as the largest ancient village in Jiangnan Province (江南). I can tell you that this place did not disappoint me at all. The atmosphere from the first step in was like stepping into a scene from an ancient Chinese movie. The cobblestone streets, ancient wooden buildings with curved tile roofs, and Chinese-style archways that are still in their original condition, made me feel the beauty and tranquility of the traditional way of life. Longmen Ancient Town has a history of more than 1,800 years and is the hometown of the Sun family (孙), which is descended from “Sun Quan” (孙权), the Emperor of Wu during the Three Kingdoms era. Within the village, there are more than 300 ancient houses built during the Ming and Qing dynasties, and there are real local people living there, helping to add life to this village. I strolled through narrow alleys lined with small teahouses, local food stalls, and shops selling handicrafts such as fans, paper towels, and old Chinese calligraphy signs. The view of the mountains behind the village, especially in the morning or evening when the soft sunlight shines down on the old tiled roofs, makes it feel like looking at a living Chinese ink painting, inviting you to stop and feel the quiet and simple feeling. Longcheng Ancient Town is not only a place to take beautiful photos, but also full of stories from the past, the villagers' way of life, and the cultural atmosphere that still breathes in every corner of the village.
