The Wong Tai Sin Temple in Guangzhou is the earliest temple dedicated to Wong Tai Sin in the Lingnan region, so it is called the Jinhua branch. In order to commemorate Wong Tai Sin’s donation of medical treatment and medicine and his help to all living beings, people also call the Huadi Wong Tai Sin Temple the Puji Altar. The Wong Tai Sin Temple in Guangzhou was first built in the year of Ji Hai in the Qing Dynasty, which was 1899 AD, and has a history of more than 100 years. Inside the temple, in the middle is the main Wong Tai Sin Hall towering above the platform (under construction as of September 2034); on the left side of the entrance are the Guandi Temple and Dou Mu Temple; on the right side of the entrance are the God of Wealth Temple and Confucius Temple; there are two long corridors leading directly to the steps, namely, Add Blessing and Add Longevity; going up the stairs, on the left side of the main hall are the Lu Zu Hall and the Merit Hall; on the right side is the Guanyin Hall; there is a Taoist temple behind the main hall. It is said that Wong Tai Sin is one of the most effective temples for praying in Guangzhou. There is a saying that "one stick of true incense will send blessings from the Supreme Saint".
