Daliang Mountain

On the way from Dinglin Temple to the hotel, I suddenly saw a building with yellow glazed tile roofs faintly flashing on the distant mountain. Checking the map, it showed the Daliang Mountain Ancient Battlefield, so I decided to visit. It was already evening, with a cold wind blowing. Looking up, I saw extremely steep steps. Taking a deep breath, I climbed steadily without stopping. When I reached the platform, I saw a huge statue of the famous Zhao general Lian Po. Although old, Lian Po still loved food. Unfortunately, due to a petty remark, "three arrows were lost in a moment," he lost the chance to serve Zhao. In the end, with a heart willing to serve the country but nowhere to offer his service, he died in melancholy. Behind the statue, a poem praising Lian Po was carved: "Fortify the walls and gather the elite, face danger with seasoned courage. Bees swarm the state of Mi, tigers watch Wuan City. One meal still strengthens the heart, a thousand gold already spent. Shouchun thinks of Zhao’s soldiers, tears flow down the white beard." At the time, I didn’t catch the author clearly, but later searching on Doubao, I found it was by the Qing dynasty poet Zhang Chenglun. However, there are differences in the third and fourth lines; Doubao’s version reads, "Bees swarm the land of Sanjin, tigers watch Wanshan City." I’m not sure which is the original. Further up is the Xuan Yun Temple under renovation. Outside the mountain wall of the hall, there were many paint and varnish buckets. The doors, windows, and eaves pillars of the hall were bright and colorful, and the Buddha statues inside were also full of spirit.
