Rocky Trails & Sweet Views the summit of Yonghwasan Mountain

#summervacay Yonghwasan in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do is one of those mountains that keeps things interesting the whole way up. The trail starts off mellow but gets rocky real quick, which makes it feel like more of a mini adventure than just a stroll through the woods. Not too long, not too intense, just enough to get your heart going and your legs working. There are a few spots with ropes and scrambles, but it’s all super doable, even fun. And the views pop up often, so you’re never bored. As you get higher, the trees thin out and suddenly you’re treated to wide-open skies and that classic mountain-layered horizon. Big wow moment. The summit itself isn’t huge, but it’s got great energy, like the kind of place where you wanna drop your pack, snack on some triangle kimbap, and just take it all in. Yonghwasan may not be the tallest peak around, but it’s full of character and totally worth the climb. Would 100% do it again.
