Lin Juemin's Former Residence

Lin Juemin's Former Residence is located at No. 17 Yangqiao East Road, Gulou District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. The first hall and the north courtyard outside the main axis of the building and the flower hall outside the south wall have been demolished. The second hall is still preserved, with three rooms and seven columns, a wooden frame, and a double-slope roof. The middle is the hall, and the two sides are the wing rooms. There is a patio, corridor, and screen door in front of the hall, a small patio behind the hall, and a shed on both sides. The Wisteria Study on the south side of the main seat faces north, with five columns and three rooms. There is a small study on the west side of the study, facing east, and a small courtyard outside the west wall. The small house in the courtyard has two rooms, facing south, with five columns, which is the residence of Lin Juemin and his wife. There is a small patio on the south side, planted with plum blossoms. The north side is the kitchen, which has been converted into a garden. There is a small door in the north corner of the garden, which connects to the second hall. After Lin Juemin's death, the Lin family left the house, and the house was sold to Xie Luanen, the grandfather of Xie Bingxin. Bingxin lived here when she was a child. In "My Hometown," she gives a vivid description of the house. It was announced as a municipal cultural relic protection unit in 1983. Lin Juemin was a pioneer of the democratic revolution and one of the 72 martyrs of Huanghuagang. ⏳Time to visit: Free admission, 30 minutes to 1 hour.
