Dingqing Monastery in Qamdo, Tibet

Dingqing Temple, whose full name is Dingqing Hongyang Yongzhong Teachings Temple, is located along the National Highway 317 of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, on the hillside west of Dingqing County in Qamdo Prefecture. Legend has it that Dingqing Temple was founded by Bon master Qiongwei Xirao Jianzan around the 11th century AD. However, according to historical records, Dingqing Temple really became a temple when a Bon master named Qiong Abuler came after Master Qiongwei. The approximate time period was between the 12th and 13th centuries. After Qiong Abule, there were 25 masters who were equivalent to the abbot of the monastery. Among them, the more famous one was Luo Danningbu. Luo Danningbu was born in Qiongbo area in 1360. He was diligent and studious since childhood and studied scriptures under a teacher. When he was young, he became a monk in Dingqing Temple and was recognized as a living Buddha at that time. Dingqing Temple was destroyed during the 1960s and 1970s, and restoration began in the mid-1980s. The initial restoration work was carried out by Master Siregele. At present, there are more than 60 monks living in the temple. In this Internet age, Dingqing Temple is truly a god-like existence. The nearby Zizhu Temple is almost a must-visit place. There are almost no tourists at Erdingqing Temple, and there is no introduction to it on Baidu Encyclopedia. But this has become my favorite temple.
