Day 4 (August 5) Explore the mysterious Zizhu Monastery in eastern Tibet. Zizhu Monastery is a 3,000-year-old monastery that is little known even to Tibetans. The religion it worships once flourished in history, but is now forced to retreat to the rugged and cold areas. It is located in a high-altitude and cold area at an altitude of 4,800 meters, but it was able to build astonishing temples and monks' quarters between the steep mountain walls. Starting from Leiwuqi, we headed along the brown canyon. The weather was good, so I was able to take a picture of the back of the archway of Zizu Temple. At the foot of Mount Zizhu, the colorful Danxia landform catches your eyes vividly, and you can't help but marvel at the magic of nature. The road conditions after coming down from National Highway 317 and heading towards Zizhu Monastery can only be described as "torturous and difficult". The 11-kilometer mountain road is all sandy and dirt, crossing mountains and peaks, bumpy, rugged and winding, with a total of 43 turns, with bare cliffs on one side and deep ravines on the other. Although it is possible to get on a sedan, which is both a cripple for both the driver and the car, it is indeed difficult. Looking up at the Zizhu Monastery built between rugged mountains, the dzong-style houses are built on the dreamy cliffs and caves of Zizhu Mountain. At the top of the mountain is a large hall with a golden roof and red walls. The small white houses where monks practice are slanted on the cliff, making you feel as if you are in a lost world somewhere in the Star Wars movie. The most magical thing is that there is a naturally formed sky gate on the mountain. From a distance, it is full of a sacred and psychedelic atmosphere. The temple, built brick by brick, tile by tile and stone by monks of successive generations, has gone through vicissitudes of life and still stands tall among the majestic mountains. The hellish road conditions keep it in its most original state. Circumambulating the mountain is not only a way to pray for the health of your family, but also a way to get closer to Zizhu Monastery. Believers use various symbols to express their faith, admiration and respect. My knowledge and experience are limited and words cannot express the magnificence of Zizhu Temple. It is even more shocking to experience it in person. You must go to Zizhu Temple, climb up to the Tianmen Gate and have a panoramic view of the mountains. PS: The Zizhu Temple camping site at the foot of the mountain is unattended and the environment is worrying.
