Dali Dashiyan, a free attraction

Both the front pavilion and the middle hall have Guanyin statues. The front pavilion is built on a huge Guanyin stone. According to legend, in ancient times, when soldiers invaded Dali, Guanyin transformed into an old woman who carried a large stone with a grass rope and met the soldiers on the road. The invading soldiers were very surprised when they saw this. They thought that if an old woman had such great strength, young men would be even stronger, so they withdrew their troops. This is why it is called 'Carrying Stone to Block Soldiers'. Later, to commemorate Guanyin for protecting the land and its people, a Guanyin Pavilion was built on this large stone. The architecture here is unique, and there are quite a few people.
