One flower, one world; one leaf, one Bodhi

Dali Dashian. Guanyintang: Also known as Dashian, it was first built in the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in the 12th year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1873). According to legend, during the Han Dynasty, soldiers invaded Dali, and Guanyin transformed into an old woman who used a grass rope to carry a stone and scare away the Han soldiers. To commemorate Guanyin's act of carrying the stone to repel the soldiers, people built the Guanyin Pavilion on the stone for worship and admiration. The temple currently houses the Guanyin Pavilion made of marble, which is exquisitely designed and magnificently grand. There is a parking lot in front of the temple, and nearby is the Zhang Family Garden, which is worth a visit. Locals often come here to eat raw skin, cold noodles, and heart-lung soup, among many other delicacies.
