I absolutely loved getting lost in Corfu Old Town – it’s one of those places where you just wander and stumble across something magical on every corner. The faded Venetian architecture gives it that elegant, old-world feel… but it’s got a proper warm, Greek soul running through it. Winding alleyways open into hidden courtyards, with tiny bakeries sending out the smell of fresh bougatsa, little perfume shops with handmade scents, and family-run stores selling gorgeous artisan soaps, olive oil and ceramics. I even found a place selling beautifully made linen clothing – the kind of stuff you’d expect to pay a fortune for elsewhere, but here it’s just tucked into a quiet back street. Top tip: Don’t leave without stopping by Papagiorgis Gelateria – a Corfu classic. The pistachio is next-level, and the rosewater flavour is surprisingly refreshing in the heat. Expect a bit of a queue… it’s worth it. Honestly, one of the most charming, liveable old towns I’ve ever visited. Go with no plan and let the town show you around.
