Tips for preventing theft at Cabo da Roca

Recently, a number of guests have almost lost their belongings in Cape Roca. We would like to remind all friends who are going to Cape Roca to make sure to keep an eye on their bags. Before the end of last year, Cape Roca was still very safe. Guests could take pictures in front of the cross monument, and no thieves would come even if it was crowded. Something has been wrong since the end of last year, especially in the last few days. The thieves have been extremely rampant and guests' bags have been opened one after another. Fortunately, the guests were quite alert and recovered their losses in time. The thieves took advantage of the tourists waiting in line to take pictures. Their attention was focused in front of the cross monument, and they were thinking about when it would be their turn, so they ignored their bags. Reminder to everyone: 1. At the high-risk area for thefts in Cape Roca: the Cross Monument (the one in Figure 1) and its vicinity, you must carry your bag in front of you and protect it with your hands. If you feel a stranger approaching and deliberately squeezing you, be extra careful. 2. When taking pictures of the sunset at Cape Roca, be especially careful near the railings, as thieves will pretend to take pictures with cameras, waiting for their opportunity. 3. For those who drive themselves, do not put bags on the passenger seat. Lock the doors and windows after getting out of the car. Observe whether there are any suspicious people around looking at your car. Only leave after confirming that it is safe. 4. When visiting tourist attractions, try not to wear famous watches or bags, as it would be bad if people noticed you.
