Wat Phan Tao, Chiang Mai

Wat Phan Tao was built around the 21st Buddhist century, around the same time as the construction of Phra Chedi Luang. The most outstanding feature of this temple is the golden teak chapel, "Phra Wihan Ho Kham Luang", built entirely of teak wood in the Chiang Saen style. Originally, this place was used as the residence of Phra Chao Mahotaraprades, the 5th ruler of Chiang Mai. Later, Phra Chao Inthawichayanon, the 7th ruler of Chiang Mai, demolished it and offered it as the chapel of Wat Phan Tao. There is also a raised pulpit in the ancient style, over a hundred years old, for you to see. Behind Phra Wihan Ho Kham Luang is the principal chedi of the temple, shaped like a bell on an octagonal base, surrounded by chedis. It is a very beautiful old temple. #Waiting for the day to travel
