Botatical park & Gardens - Crete Island

One of the main, in my opinion, attractions of the island of Crete, which for some reason the guides almost never talk about, is the botanical garden. It is located in the region of Chania, on the 18th kilometer of the road Chania - Omalos on the mountainside. The garden is large - about 20 hectares, spread out on a mountainside in a place that was previously destroyed by fire. There are many types of plants in the garden, below there is a lake, a farm with donkeys and peacocks. The most pleasant thing is a walk along the paths of the garden - first you go down to the lake, then climb back - along the slopes of the hill along a winding path on the sides of which various types of plants are planted. Orange and lemon trees grow everywhere, there are many birds. At the end of the hike, you can have lunch in a restaurant with a beautiful view.
