Old Fortress Charm 🏰

#mediterranean #crete #greece Visiting Castel Selino in Palaiochora was definitely worth it. The hike up is short but a little steep, and once you get to the top, you find the ruins of the old Venetian fortress. There isn’t much left of the structure, but the history of the place adds to its charm. What really makes it special is the view — it’s probably the best viewpoint in the whole town. You can see both sides of the peninsula, the beaches, the sea stretching out forever, and the town below. I liked going there later in the afternoon when the light was softer. It’s a peaceful spot to sit for a while, enjoy the breeze, and get a sense of how small and beautiful Palaiochora really is.
