The park is about 600 meters long from north to south and about 300 meters wide from east to west, covering an area of 251 mu (about 41 acres). In 2009, the Cangzhou Municipal Government decided to recast the Iron Lion. The new Iron Lion, cast in a single pour, is about 8.5 meters long, 4.18 meters wide, and 6.9 meters high. The missing tail and chin have been restored, and it weighs about 120 tons, with a volume 1.32 times that of the original and a designed "lifespan" of 2,000 years. On March 25, 2011, the new Iron Lion was transported from Wanjiazhai Village, Hao Village Town, Botou City, and finally settled in Lion City Park.
