Soju Bar Frankfurt

#fallingforfall I really loved my time at Sojubar. They have all the traditional Korean food there and I felt really good about knowing the food was authentic. The kimchi jigae was not my favourite jigae I’ve ever had, the broth was quite mild and watery, I wouldn’t get it again. The kimchi pancake and fried chicken were 10/10 would have again. Definitely do make a reservation for this place, as it’s super busy and they get annoyed with you if you don’t. My first time visiting this restaurant. The place is small yet cozy. I ordered kimchi jjigae and spicy fried chicken, it was ok but it could be better if they used a few weeks fermented kimchi and more of kimchi brine than water. (The color will be more enchanting.) For me kimchi jjigae should be creamy so that you can savor more the flavor. As far as the crispy chicken with spicy glaze goes nothing really special, I was expecting that they cook the coated chicken together with the spicy sauce to bring out more the flavor rather than putting the sauce on top. I wish the side dish has more distinctive taste. Nevertheless the service personal was attentive and friendly. Although I will definitely give it another try sometime their other dishes on the menu, and maybe by then I can get a bit of taste of Korea in Frankfurt…
