Step into the pirate playground

Located at the westside of Volkspark, Friedrichshain is the Spielplatz Friedenstrasse (pirate-themed playground). Most of people will not miss it when walking along the Friedenstrasse because of the slide that is designed like a pirate boat. Kids will surely love it, when pirate costume is often the popular choice of costume. Another interesting thing about playgrounds in Germany is that they are built "dangerously" with the purpose of teaching children how to overcome the obstacles and navigate dangerous situations. Instead of the usual rubber mulch flooring in other countries, it is more common to find sand flooring in German playgrounds. Parents please be rest assured of the safety though, as all playgrounds equipment is certified by the TÜV (Association for Technical Inspection). #fallingforfall #berlin
