I recently discovered an amazing hidden gem for hiking, mountaineering, and flower viewing, and I just have to share it with you! Over the next two weeks, this peach blossom valley in Beijing will be incredibly beautiful! 1. Introduction Xiyucun Village is located in Changping. From mid-to-late March, it transforms into a veritable sea of peach blossoms. The mountains, stretching for several kilometers, are covered with blooming peach blossoms. The scene is truly breathtaking, and every photo you take will be a masterpiece. It feels like stepping into a paradise. Plus, it's close to the city, so it's a quick trip from downtown, perfect for a spring outing with family or friends. 2. Special Features - Sea of Blossoms: Kilometers of peach blossoms bloom freely, creating a romantic pink landscape that's perfect for photos. - Fun for All Ages: With trails of varying difficulty, there's something for everyone, whether you're elderly, a child, or a young adult. - Convenient Facilities: The Xiyucun Village Comprehensive Management Center offers parking, restrooms, snacks, and drinks. There are also homestays available if you want to stay overnight. 3. Address and Admission - Address: Xiyucun Village, Changping - Admission: Free! Free! Free! I can't emphasize this enough – it's an incredible deal. 4. Getting There I highly recommend driving. Just set your navigation to "Xiyucun Village Comprehensive Management Center." It's about an hour's drive from downtown, and the road conditions are generally good. Public transportation can be a bit of a hassle, so driving offers more flexibility and freedom to stop and admire the scenery along the way. 5. Recommended Routes Route 1 (For those who enjoy climbing and panoramic views) Across from the "Xiyucun Village Comprehensive Management Center" is the entrance to the hiking trail. Follow the trail upwards for about 20 minutes to reach the pavilion at the top. This route offers elevated views of the entire peach blossom valley. While there's a gentle incline, it's not too difficult, and the entire trail is a wooden boardwalk, making for a comfortable hike. Once you reach the pavilion, you can choose to continue along the loop trail or return the way you came. The scenery on the second half of the loop isn't drastically different from the first half. Route 2 (Suitable for seniors, children, or those who prefer close-up shots) Starting from Oak Valley in Xiyucun Village, you can walk along the roadside trails. The peach blossoms are particularly dense along this route, making it ideal for close-up photos. If you don't want to walk the trails, you can also follow the road, which offers stunning views. This route is relatively flat with no incline, making it perfect for seniors and children. My tip: As you approach Xiyucun Village, park your car on the side of the road and walk to admire the peach blossoms covering the mountainsides. It's a truly enjoyable experience. Walk about 1.5 km to the Comprehensive Management Center, then head up to the pavilion on the mountain. 6. Important Notes 1. Parking: While there's a parking lot at the Comprehensive Management Center, it can get crowded during peak blossom season. It's best to arrive early, or park on the roadside as I mentioned earlier. 2. Restrooms: There are no restrooms on the mountain, so be sure to use the facilities at the Xiyucun Village Comprehensive Management Center before heading out, or plan your time accordingly. 3. Blossom Season: The peach blossom viewing period is expected to last from mid-to-late March to early April. Make sure to plan your visit accordingly so you don't miss the peak bloom. 4. What to Wear: If you plan on hiking the mountain trails, wear comfortable athletic shoes. Otherwise, your feet will suffer. 5. Sun Protection: Don't underestimate the spring sun. Apply sunscreen and wear a hat before heading out to avoid getting sunburned.
