Kuala Lumpur Batu Caves｜A Rendezvous with Time and Culture

Batu Caves is located north of the city center of Kuala Lumpur, about a 20-minute drive from the city center. The giant golden statue at the entrance represents the Indian deity Lord Murugan. This 42.7-meter-tall golden statue, completed in 2006, is one of the tallest Vishnu statues in the world. To enter the cave, you need to climb 272 rainbow-colored steps. The statue is located in Pigeon Square, where many pigeons gather, making it a great place for photos. Rainbow Stairs The 272-step rainbow stairs are a major feature of Batu Caves. Built along the steep mountain wall, the stairs are painted in various bright colors, resembling a rainbow. You can see this iconic check-in spot from afar after getting off the intercity train. The Dark Cave is dimly lit, eerie, and cool, with steep and winding paths, but you can see the surrounding scenery. The walls are filled with oddly shaped rocks, and there are statues of Indian deities everywhere, each with different expressions. Inside the cave, there is a 100-meter-high temple open cave, where occasional sunlight creates a strange and solemn atmosphere. ⚠️Tour tips: The light rail is unreserved, you can sit anywhere. The carriages are very cool and clean. The train intervals vary between 30-60 minutes depending on the time of day. You can check the departure time on Google Maps in advance. The front carriage of the train is for women only, men should not board the wrong carriage. The train passes through Kuala Lumpur Station, where you can board. Women must wear knee-length pants or long skirts, otherwise, you will have to buy a scarf on-site for 15 MYR. Do not tease the monkeys when climbing the stairs, and keep your bag secure.
