Can’t think of another church more unique than this, WORLDWIDE

#celebrateit My Chinese New Year this year was celebrated not in Malaysia like usual, but with a trip to Spain & Portugal. And it could not have started better with Familia Sagrada, which was truly one of the kind and out of the world. The pictures said it all. The entire architecture was nothing like any churches of any styles or era, be it medieval, Gothic, classical or baroque etc. In fact it is remarkably different from even just any normal building. Created by Antoni Gaudi, the church incorporates many elements that are meant to resemble the nature, from pillars to most ornamentations, thus the organic look instead of following simple straight/curved lines or geometrical shapes. The most visually catchy feature of the place is perhaps the vibrant color. From sunrise to sunset, there’s bound to be some light shining through either of the glass panels on the east/west side, casting colorful “shadow” all over the interior space. Granted, the admission ticket is high, like from 26€ onwards for an adult, and I hesitated a lot whether to go. But I had no a tiny bit of regret after the visit. It doesn’t align with my sense of beauty to be honest, but it’s a truly eye-opening experience to say the least. Tips: Right next to the church across the street is a garden, where you can take a picture of the entire church over the reflection of a lake.
