Victory Memorial

🏠Wat Chai Chana Songkhram, originally named Wat Tuek, was built on the land and house of Chao Phraya Bodindecha (Sing Singhaseni), a great general during the reign of King Rama III. 🎆After winning battles against the Vietnamese and Cambodians, he donated the land and house, which were granted by King Rama III, to establish the temple. It was named Wat Chai Chana Songkhram to commemorate the victory in 1848. 🏠After its construction and religious ceremonies, it was not presented to be a royal temple, thus remaining a common temple for a long time. 🏡During the reign of King Rama IX, it was graciously elevated to a third-class royal temple. 🏠Due to its new construction method using concrete buildings, which was unusual at the time, it has been called Wat Tuek until today. 🙏Inside the temple, important features include the Buddha image in the Mara Vichaya posture, the principal Buddha image in the ordination hall, the standing Buddha image in front of the ordination hall, the prang, the chedi, and the memorial pavilion of Chao Phraya Bodindecha (Sing) Singhaseni. 💥Wat Chai Chana Songkhram: Mahachak Road, Samphanthawong Subdistrict, Samphanthawong District, Bangkok 🌐Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/5cQjn4C9bqt61a4ZA 🕔Opening hours: 05:00 – 18:00
