Pay homage to Phra Buddha Dhammakaya Thep Mongkol at Wat Paknam.

🏡 Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen is an ancient temple established in the mid-Ayutthaya period. Later, during the reign of King Rama III, it was renovated but still retained the Ayutthaya architectural style. 🏠 It was renovated again during the reign of King Rama V. 🧱 However, during the reign of King Rama VI, Wat Paknam had no abbot and was neglected. Therefore, Luang Por Sod from Wat Phra Chetuphon was invited to be the abbot in 1916. 🏰 Luang Por Sod transformed Wat Paknam into a center for meditation practice. 🙏 Luang Por Sod passed away on February 3, 1959, but his body is still preserved at the Sangkhaneymongkol Thepnimit Hall, open for public homage. Interesting features within the temple include: 🛕 The Great Chedi Maha Ratchamongkol, built between 2004 - 2012, is a blend of Rattanakosin and Lanna art, standing 80 meters tall with 5 floors. The 1st floor is a museum displaying various artifacts. The 2nd floor is a meditation room. The 3rd floor is the museum of Somdet Phra Maha Ratchamangalacharn (Chuang Varapunyo), displaying his personal belongings and offerings from disciples. The 4th floor houses golden statues of Luang Por Sod and other revered teachers.
