Metal castle of Wat Ratchanadda, Bangkok

#VisitBangkok Wat Ratchanadda or Wat Ratchanaddaram Worawihan is another cultural tourist attraction that should not be missed in Bangkok. According to history, it was built at the end of the reign of King Nangklao on an old orchard covering an area of ​​approximately 25 rai, granted in honor of his granddaughter, Her Royal Highness Princess Somanas Wattanavadi. His Majesty also ordered the construction of a metal castle instead of a pagoda, making it the first metal castle in Thailand. It was built as a 7-storey building with 37 castle spires, representing the 37 factors of enlightenment in Buddhism. The 7th level of the castle spire enshrines the Buddha's relics. In the middle of the castle is a hollow space with a 67-step spiral staircase for walking up to see the view from above. Today we went to visit the metal castle early in the morning, so there weren't many people around. We were able to go up to see the view from the 7th level of the metal castle, where we could clearly see the view of the old city of Bangkok. When we walked down, there were Buddha statues and a museum that provided information about various metal castles. This long holiday, I had the opportunity to both worship and see the castle. Even though I had passed by it many times, I never went in. For traveling to this Loha Prasat, you can park your car in the parking lot of the temple inside. But the most convenient way is to take public transportation or a tuk-tuk.
