Huay Kaew Temple, Lopburi Province

Admire the Khmer architecture of 3 countries at Wat Huay Kaew, located in Maha Son Subdistrict, Ban Mi District, Lopburi Province. This temple is a combination of Khmer architecture of Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar. The structure is a Sukhothai twelve-cornered pagoda, but the patterns on the outside are in the Khmer style, which is over 140 years old. The highlight is the pagoda in the middle of the water, which enshrines a green and white jade Buddha image inside the pagoda. The pagoda in the middle of the water, Phra Maha Mettara Rattanarangsi Pagoda, is decorated to look like it is in the middle of the forest. Once you step inside, you will feel the peace and coolness. In addition, around the pagoda, there are statues of apsaras (goddesses in heaven) made of laterite bricks in various poses, decorating the pagoda.
