Pay homage to Phra Phuttha Katanyu at Wat Koen Kathin

Wat Koen Kathin is another famous temple located in Ban Chi Subdistrict, Ban Mi District, Lopburi Province. There is no clear evidence indicating the year this temple was built, but locals know that it has been part of the village for a long time. In the past, there was a revered Buddha statue that the villagers highly respected. Today, it has become the residence of a renowned monk in Lopburi Province. When Luang Pho Pian Akkathammo, the monk residing at this temple, and the villagers named this Buddha statue 'Luang Pho Pan,' it was to honor the Cambodian monk who was Luang Pho Pian's teacher. Initially, the temple only had an old Thai-style pavilion. As Luang Pho Pian gained fame as a renowned monk, he developed the temple further by constructing many permanent structures, including the sermon hall, ordination hall, vihara, and monks' quarters. Today, Wat Koen Kathin has become an important and famous temple in Lopburi, attracting tourists and devotees who come to pay homage to Luang Pho Pan and Luang Pho Pian.
